Story

Enlightenment is like a status symbol. You can tell the level of enlightenment of the Yogis in L.A. by the size of their Rolls Royce.

Lyrics

When Donna Jean was a precocious child,

She played strip poker with 52 cards wild,

Got dressed and did not even say thanks,

Took all the little boys piggy banks

I had a woman who was so mean,

I went out a bought her a washing machine.

When I got back it was shot full of holes.

She said, "I'm a liberated woman. I don't wash no clothes."

Come home last night and what did I see?

Yellow tape from tree to tree.

While I was out getting a friendly massage,

Somebody came and burned down my garage.

All broke down in the middle of the night.

12 below zero and my nose froze tight.

I gave you my number and let you on my line.

Now you want to party like it's 1999.

You don't like my friends, cheap thrills.

Dope is for dopes and speed kills.

If you didn't like my menu, you should have quit with the hors d'eurves.

Stepping up, to the plate, takes steely nerves.

Jamming at the frim fram, cramming in the quill,

If you don't want my loving why you coming around still?

Because you want it, when you want it, when you want it,

And you feel like the queen when you sit upon it.

Tell you one thing about the women I knew,

Some took on the band and the wrecking crew.

I miss the ones who got passed by.

S'cuse me while I kiss the sky.

I been doped and I been dazed.

I been shocked and I been amazed.

Lucky or not, I look in the abyss,

I see the chaos and I see the bliss.

THE FEVER - words and music by Bruce Springsteen

Alright

When I get home from my job, I turn on the TV

But I can't keep my mind on the show.

When I lay down at night, I don't get no sleep

So I turn on the radio,

But the only thing I hear is you whisperin' in my ear

The words that you used to say

Well now the days grow longer

My love grows stronger

The fever gets badder every day

I got the fever for this girl

Got the fever, oh got the fever

Nothing that a boy can do,

When he got the fever for a girl

Got the fever, oh got the fever

Left this little boy blue.

Well, I can remember comin' home

See you standin' at the stove

With the dishes on the table

Dinner ready to go,

Well maybe out to a movie show

Something that you like to see,

Because you were my sun in the morning

You're my moon at night.

When I think about it, makes me feel alright.

Well now the day grow longer.

The love just grows stronger, baby

And the fever gets so bad at night

I got the fever for a girl.

Well I kissed a champagne lady and I drank from her shoe.

So she took me upstairs to see my brand new tattoo

I was dancing on her mattress and commencing to shout

When a Louisville slugger knocked me over and out

Tattooed, black and blue in Yazoo City.

I had 13 hundred dollars and my ironed shirt on

Now my picture of Bo Diddly and my lucky twenty is gone.

They took my cash, took my stash in Yazoo City.

But I’d go back in a flash to Yazoo City

bridge -

If you want to wake up with your drawers on

And your honey and your money to not be gone

If you never want to get the Yazoo City Blues

Write a letter to your mama and spit-shine your shoes

Now it looked like Mardi Gras at the county jail.

When Champagne and her entourage came to make my bail

Subdued and tattooed in Yazoo City

On the scene with the green in Yazoo City

Making a scene with the queen in Yazoo City

bridge #2 -

If losing is what you dread,

Quit while you’re behind and you’ll be ahead,

If the new world order is what you choose,

Then you never want to get these Yazoo City Blues

Don’t take more than one sleepless night to discover

Champagne Lady got more than one other lover

Tattooed, black and blue in Yazoo City.

They took my cash. She took my stash in Yazoo City.

But I’d go back in a flash in Yazoo City

Story

It is a beautiful thing when a wandering imagination comes to life.

Lyrics

 - 1st Verse

She’ll look like Sunday morning and smell like early spring

Pour my morning coffee, treat me like a king.

We will never worry, fuss or fret.

Chasing those horizons, what you see is what you get.

 - 2nd Verse

She'll lean against the dash and turn up my CD.

And ask if there is something she can do for me.

Wonder if I ever bowed my head in prayer

With Elvis singing gospel, I'll be glad she's there

  - Chorus

I wish I had a waitress in my truck.

A smiling pretty waitress in my truck.

Pouring me hot coffee, bringing me good luck.

Eighteen wheels a rolling with a waitress in my truck

  - 3rd Verse

Rolling down the highway me and my best friend.

Days will all be happy and nights will never end.

The Indiana wind is at our backs.

2 thousand miles to ramble until we can relax.

  - Repeat Chorus

  - Bridge

On the off ramp of 294

I put my brakes to the floor.

Like a deer in my head lights she froze.

Pink dress, white apron and panty-hose

 - Coda

My baby hankers for a spankin, she’ll get a red butt tonight.

Hankerin for a spankin, she’ll get a red butt tonight.

Can’t nobody say I don’t treat my baby right.

My baby’s cruisin for bruisin, she’ll get a  good lickin instead

Perusin a good bruisin, she’ll get a licking instead.

You know I spoil my baby rotten when I spank her boney bottom red

bridge

When I get hungry, I take a big bite

When we get rowdy I turn up the light.

When we get naughty I tie her up tight.

Can’t nobody say I don’t treat my baby right.

My baby’s all dressed up in whip cream, looks like a sundae to me

Dressed up in a whip cream bikini, looks like Sunday to me

Some people keep their lovin in the closet but my baby always sets me free

bridge #2

When I say smile she always says cheese

We capture moments on DVDs

When I say baby you sure know how to please

She drops to her knees to give me a squeeze

My baby’s all dressed up in whip cream, looks like a sundae to me

Dressed up in a whip cream bikini, looks like Sunday to me

They keep their hand cuffs in a drawer but my baby keeps em handy.

Her whips and chains on the wall for all to see.

They keep their lovin in the closet but my baby always sets me free

She’s not much into romance but she’s always good for a one night stand.

I said Chuck I’d be on Amtrak tonight

Don Juan is on her left and Charlie Chan is always on her right.

Story

The spirit of adventure and the fearlessness of the unknown.

Lyrics

All hands on deck we've run afloat

I heard the captain cry

Explore the ship replace the cook

Let no one leave alive

Across the straits around the horn

How far can sailors fly

A twisted path our tortured course

And no one left alive

We sailed for parts unknown to man

Where ships come home to die

No lofty peak nor fortress bold

Could match our captain's eye

Upon the seventh seasick day

We made our port of call

The sand so white and sea so blue

No mortal place at all

We fired the gun and burned the mast

And rode from ship to shore

The captain cried, we sailors wept

Our tears were tears of joy

Now many moons and many Junes

Have passed since we made land

And the salty dog, the seaman's log

Your witness in my own hand

Story

The family never owned a key to the house. We left on vacations and the neighbors kept an eye on things. Chicago used to be a 24 hour town and the people lived together in peace and harmony and I miss it.

Lyrics

After hours when the clock is asleep,

And the  memories just won't let me be,

I hope I can keep going on.

After hours in the silence of night,

After hours before it gets light,

How can I be so right if she's gone ?

There ain't no place to go, no one to see,

No one to love, no love for me,

Nothing to do but wonder why she set me free.

After hours it's so quiet alone.

Only me and my dial tone,

And I'll still be alone after dawn.
